Bernstein's Wall

A portrait of Leonard Bernstein that explores how the composer broke through barriers of anti-Semitism, homophobia, and the high/low culture divide to become a classical-music evangelist and West Side Story creator. Director Douglas Tirola constructs the film entirely from Bernstein's own words—TV interviews, home movies, and candid letters—creating an intimate self-portrait of a genius with an insatiable appetite for music and life.
